Few have control over many

And there is really nothing wrong with that. Of course that is not fair, but no one ever promised that life will be fair.

You can't have complete control over Your life. It's just another stupid American bullshit invented to make you think certain way, to make You useful for the rest of the society. If You think You can do anything, and nothing could possibly stop You on Your path, imagine You've been born with HIV in Africa. How this could affect Your possibilities?

If You aren't one of those who really rule this world, understand that Your mind have been washed. TV, magazines, films, pop stars, and all that bling-bling changed the way You think. Actually You are not a customer, You are product, which can be bought, traced, and used to satisfy Few. What You watch, buy, who You phone, where You live, what are Your habits, all of that and more are just data that Few collect and analyze. Building upon this, they know what are other new ways to use You.

Culture around us is not freed form influence of the Few. Everyday You shave Your legs, or wear suit, or use a lipstick and put a fluid under Your eyes, wear jewelry, drive Your high-class red car, have fun with You top-tech cell phone. Culture tells You, acting this way You will become beautiful, cool, and desired. They tell You that baggy eyes are awful, pinky-whiteish skin is ugly and dead, fat is disgusting. While having soft-dark skin and being slim will make You happy. Culture creates ideal, which can never be reached. And that way Few can create further things You will always need to become happy.

It's really not important at all who are the Few, do they really exist or maybe what i call the Few, are in reality just social process, transformation witch turned off our thinking. It doesn't matter at all, because You will never have a chance to become one of them.

So the real question is - what You CAN do. By writing this, do I ask You not to use lipstick, sell Your car, stop reading magazines, watching tv, run away and hide? No.

I just want You to realize the fact, deeply. Realize power of the Few, brain washing, culture influence, accept it, and immediately You will start perceiving things You have never seen before. When You enter the mall, You will read advertisements, and You will know WHY it is composed, and written like that. You will find why products have been located in special way, and You will know what the Few want You to do.

Through this knowledge You will have more choices in Your life, more opportunities. You will be able to invent Your own definition of beauty. Even if that won't change Your life dramatically, You will know Your options, and will be ready to act accordingly. You will find more freedom in Your life, and new areas of freedom You haven't perceived before.

Realize, perceive, think, act.

Raven Prince

Another digital painting. This one is a remainder of old times when i played with group of friends LARP chronicle. I have some really cool photos from those events. Perfect stuff to be used as a reference. It's so much fun to paint friends as a vampires. Who knows, maybe i'll do more of these soon ;)

WoD characters

This time i thought i will share with You some of my digital illustrations i did for World of Darkness chronicle i play with the group of friends. When preparing story for the game I usually start with sketching characters, and after that go into planning scenes. Working visually at first seems to be more natural for me, and it's more fun to have some materials.

One of the werewolfs just before transformation ;)

Nosferatu is always a good choice ;)

And mysterious vampire lady.

Painting on t-shirts

Recently i've decided to try some t-shirt painting. So i bought some fabric paints and just made few tries. Below you can see t-shirt i did for my friend Marcin. It should fit his personality pretty good. I'm going to send it to him today.
Painting on t-shirt is total fun and i'm going to explore it further. If you want to give it a try to, here are few tips, so it will be easier for you (those are appropriate when you are going to paint with brush directly, without stencils):
  • prepare your t-shirt, just the way you would normally do with a canvas. Wash it out, let it dry, and then paint over the area of your design with fabric paint few times (i was using middle value mixture of black, white and painting medium). i used 4 coats like that, drying them with hairdryer between every coat
  • after 24h iron painted area having your iron set up on 1 dot through some thin paper. Do that in well ventilated room, because fabric paint (at least the one i used) tend to evaporate some binder stuff. When i did that first without proper ventilation i had a big headacke later on. Also do not iron before 24h, or some parts of the paper may stick into the paint, and it may be hard to remove them
  • after that you can start painting normally. Prepared t-shirt is much easier to paint on. If you need transparent effects, better use painting medium then water.
  • when your painting is finished, again wait 24h and iron it.
If you know something important about this subject please let me know! And here is Marcin's new t-shirt:

End of world, or Me. Finised.

This painting was started some time ago, and it evolved in my mind slowly and deeply. It’s extremely personal to me.
First idea was pretty simple, but then it changed, mutated, grew. Such size is always challenging, even more in my small studio. But it has other influence as well. As all bigger paintings, this one too is amazing to create. With a normal size of the canvas your eye touches many things around you, not exactly connected with your idea or emotions. But when you start painting bigger one, like this, there is simply no run away. Nowhere to hide. You are in the painting itself! And there is no rest from your emotions.

I’ve tried to photograph it many times, without success. Those pictures are probably best i can do. I needed to use wide lenses of my camera to capture it as a whole, that is why pictures are distorted. Proper light for the process of photographing was a problem too. Colors in real life look different from what you see on all of those photos.
It’s also hard to notice on those pictures, but bottom part is covered with heavy impasto knife work.

I really love this one. It’s like self-portrait to me.

Painting horrors fan

Asia is a friend of mine and one of the biggest horror freaks i know! Truly! Think of any horror movie, A, B or C category, old or new, funny or serious - she knows it. It was really great time i spent painting her. Perfect model. Positive, letting artist to do his job, just feeling studio mood.

Painting was done in two sessions. Her doggy was waiting alone in home, so she couldn’t stay too long. At final this came to be advantage, because i could let first session paint dry, and use some glazing on another session. When we finished, Asia promised to pose for another painting, this time something more stylish. I’m really satisfied with colors, in life painting has nice feeling.

Place where i grow up

This piece was painted in January and it shows place where i grow up. I was soooo lucky and had perfect childhood in this huge garden. When i look at kids today i feel a bit pity for them not having opportunity to climb trees, play seek-and-hide. The house in the background was build from the ground by my grandfather. We move out after his death. Now it has new owner, but we still own garden so i could depict my growing up place.

When i was painting there was really cold, paint was getting stiff, and even i had 2 pairs of pants and 2 sweaters it was impossible sit without movement. I needed to put color quickly and boldly. Later, in my studio just few strokes of color were added from memory.

Knifes

Just finished, and it’s still wet. I used to paint bigger paintings. It’s only 11,5 inch square and painting such small piece is a challenge. My first idea was just to paint male nude, nothing more, but while painting I was listening to Nox Arcana music (so creepy and dark, with all those Lovecraft mythos, invocations and singing) and some ideas about faith, understanding of evil were bouncing around my head. Is it always good what we do in the name of faith?

This blurry, side photo I’ve put just for proper color presentation. Cameras just can’t capture all those beautiful colors oil paint has.

Life painting with friends!

In today's life everyone lives in hurry and its getting harder and harder to have that fantastic opportunity of life painting. Recently I’ve been really lucky, because some of my friends had some free time, they could spent with me in my studio. I went for a simple compositions i could complete in one sitting.

Painting friends is definatelly unique experience. As John Singer Sargent said: “If you paint your friends, they and you are chiefly concerned about the likeness. You can’t discard a canvas when you please and begin anew - you can’t go on indefinitely until you have solved a problem.”
